Thursday 26th January

Today we all worked on the same thing - paper mache!
We each paper mached a balloon which when dry, will be sliced in half to make two.
One half will be used to decorate two dimensional relief Easter
eggs and the other, two dimensional relief petals for our
spring flowers.
Both of these, we will carry on with next week.
Please come with an old shirt, as artclub can be messy.

Thursday 19th January

This week we continued to create more things to add to our Easter display for the Children's Centre, Lofthouse and large collaborative piece based on Springtime.
Blossom was added to the trees we painted last week.

We made a background for the chicks painted last week by sponging on paint and adding straw-like fibre and tissue that we shredded. A grass background was started for the chalk sheep we drew last week.
We made butterflies from tie-dye fabrics and patterned papers and embellished them with sequins.

Next week we will be using paper mache so please can you bring an old shirt to prevent you from getting messy.

Key Stage 2 Artclub

Welcome to Key Stage 2 Artclub.
This half term we are creating things related to Easter and Spring. This was prompted by a request to design a display board on an Easter theme for the Children's Centre, Lofthouse.
This week we have used chalks to draw sheep and sponge painted chicks.

Some of us painted the base of trees, which we will add blossom to next week.
Once we completed our paper work, some of us are working on fabric which will be stitched together to form a large piece of work based on Springtime.
We look forward to seeing you on Thursday.

Visit to the Children's Centre

On Friday 13th at 3.30pm all the children in Key Stage 1 Artclub who worked on the project "Under the Sea" (last term) are invited to the Children's Centre, at Rodillian School to view the artwork they made last term.
We would ask the children to come with their adult straight from school and go to the Children's Centre which is in the left part at the front of Rodillian School as you look at the building. I will be waiting by the door so you will see where to come.
We have invited the Rothwell Record to come and photograph the event. Please can you let Mrs. Mistry or myself, Mrs. Chin know if you are coming, then we will know to wait for you at the door.
