Easter Egg Competition 2012 - Photostory 1

Take a look at the fantastic entries into the Easter Egg competition for 2012.
We have had so many "eggcellent" creations I have compiled them into four photostories. Hopefully if you are looking for yours it will not be too difficult to find!

Thursday 15th March

The props for the summer drama production "The Pirates of the Curry Bean"
are really coming along now.
The paper mache on the ship's wheel had dried, so we painted one side of it.
The ship's sail needed the ship's name posting on to it.
Posters were worked on.
Again, an industrious week!
Just to remind you that Artclub is the final one next week and the children
need to be collected at 3.45pm from the hall doors. If you are then coming
to the Children's Centre at Rodillian School we look forward to seeing you there.

Thursday 8th March

Today we carried on making the props for the summer drama production "The Pirates of the Curry Bean."

The girls did a fabulous job of designing the emblem on the ship's sail and then drawing it out.

Thankyou to Miss Vollings who added the detail to the Union Jack flag.

Today we had fun with paper mache!
The ship's wheel was made and then a layer of paper mache was applied all over it. Thankyou Miss Conroy for helping us with this. Hope you didn't get too messy!
We added the finishing touches to the pirate's flag...
...and carried on with our posters.
All Key Stage 2 Artclub members have brought home a letter about our visit to the Children's Centre on Thursday 22nd March to see their Easter display they were creating last term.
We hope to see you there.

Thursday 23rd February

We started painting the scenery and props for the summer drama production "The Pirates of the Curry Bean."
This is the biggest painting we have embarked upon so far, as it now has to fit over the padded gym mat on the gym apparatus - but I'm sure you'll agree so far, so good!
Please bring a change of clothes as we get messy!

Thursday 9th February

There was lots of finishing off to do this week...
Chick's legs and beaks to paint.
Hen pictures to finish.
Backgrounds to paint using colour washes.
Details to add to the already painted easter eggs.
A caterpillar to paint.
All these represent some part of our Easter montage which will be on display to all visitors to the Children's Centre in the run up to Easter.
I am hoping we will be able to have a sequel on display in school.
Can Mrs. Mistry and Mrs. Chin thank all of Key Stage 2 Artclub for their commitment and enthusiasm each week and we look forward to next half term when we will be making the scenery and props for the drama production "The Pirates of the Curry Bean".

Thursday 2nd February

Today we were painting our Easter eggs for the display at the Children's Centre. We have used some lovely pastel colours which we will be embellishing with papers and ribbons next week.
Decorating our 2d relief flowers was fun and they have dried exceptionally "curly" so they will really look like they are just coming out of bud!
We have cracked on with our hen pictures which we are creating from papers we decorated two weeks ago.
Lots to do!
Next week we will be tying up lots of the loose ends needed to finish the display and it will be fabulous to see some of the work we created in the early part of the half term once more.
See you on Thursday.
