The Finished Paintings!

May we present the three completed paintings for Beechwood Dental Care in Woodlesford made by our Reception Artclub.

The first painting is based on the children's story "Titus's Troublesome Tooth" by Linda Jennings and Gwyneth Williamson.  It is depicted as a comic strip where the children have told the story through pictures with their written descriptions of how Titus's farmyard friends are going to help him get his tooth out!

The second painting is inspired by Audrey Wood's book "Tooth Fairy".  It shows a cross section of the Tooth Fairy's castle.  At the top the Tooth Elves are seen building a bridge out of the teeth the Tooth Fairy has collected.  In the middle the Tooth Fairy is showing off the Hall of Perfect Teeth to her two guests, Jessica and Matthew.  At the bottom the Tooth Robots are hard at work cleaning the "not so perfect teeth" in the Tooth Dungeon, making them as good as new.

The third painting is a scene from "Bear's Loose Tooth" by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman.  Bear has his first wobbly tooth and his friends, Mole, Hare, Owl, Wren and others try desperately to pull it out.

It was great to see all the paintings side by side in the entrance to Beechwood Dental Care in Woodlesford.  We took our families and friends along to see what we had made and we had our photograph taken for the Rothwell Record.  The article should be in September's issue.

Mr. Reid, the dentist said that the paintings were helping his patients relax as they came into the building and they were a talking point.

Well done Reception Artclub from myself, Mrs. Chin and Mrs. Mistry.  It has been an absolute pleasure working on this project with you.

We have made something together that lots of people will enjoy looking at every day.

Thursday 5th July

Today was our last session of Reception Artclub before our visit to Beechwood Dental Care in Woodlesford.

We had lots of finishing off to do.

Thankyou to Miss Pyatt and Miss McSorely who helped as well.

There were animals to complete, a Tooth Fairy to dress and teeth to place on their pedestals...

After Artclub today, the paintings will have borders sewn around them and fixings applied so they can be hung at Beechwood Dental Care in Woodlesford.

We are so excited to see all the paintings exhibited together, side-by-side, when we visit Beechwood Dental Care in two weeks!
