Thursday 28th June

Today at Artclub we worked on our third painting for Beechwood Dental Care in Woodlesford.

We stuck down the bear's fur, the leaves on the trees and the lovely, lush leaves that are the bushes.

Some of us chose to paint some of the characters in the book to go on our painting.

Next week we will be adding detail to these characters along with finishing off the "Tooth Fairy" painting.

Today we had to add the captions to the pictures on the Titus painting. There has been some beautiful writing and text effects which will be added to the pictures to tell the story.

The paintings are really coming together now.  I am currently sewing a bright green border to the Titus painting to compliment it and finish it off, whilst Mrs. Mistry is laminating the text for Titus and planning the remaining characters to include.

It's busy, busy, busy, but incredibly exciting!

We look forward to the last Artclub session, next week.

Thursday 21st June

We were based in the light, bright and airy Year 3/4 corridor tonight and we had a look at the three paintings we have been working on, commissioned by Beechwood Dental Care, Woodlesford side by side.

The Titus painting is nearly finished.  Next week we will be writing the captions and then the border and fixings can be sewn on.

The Tooth Fairy background has had all the smaller paintings placed on it and it's looking good!
Today we glued teeth on the bridge (because in the book the tooth elves are busy building the castle from all the lost teeth.)  We each painted a big tooth to place on each of the twelve pedestals that sit in the Hall of Perfect Teeth. (One to represent each of our twelve members of Reception Artclub.)

Most of our energy was directed at the final painting based on the book "Bear's Loose Tooth" by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman.  We took it in turns to paint the tree, bushes and sky.

Next week we will be gluing fabrics and tissue to the characters and finishing off the other two paintings.  Exciting stuff!

Thursday 14 June 2012

Thursday 14th June

Today we started a new book called "Bear's Loose Tooth" by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman.

Miss Vollands read us the delightful story all about Bear whose tooth becomes loose when eating his lunch one day.  His friends, Hare, Mouse, Wren, Owl and Badger all try to help Bear pull his tooth out....

We then drew our favourite part of the story and there were some fabulous bears drawn!

Some of us drew some delightful scenes complete with "tunnels" (caves)
and the other characters.

Miss Vollands continued to cut out all the impressive paintings we did before half term for the "Tooth Fairy" painting which we are currently piecing together.
Thankyou to Miss Vollands for all her help with this project.

Next week we will be painting our big picture inspired by this story, which is specifically designed for Beechwood Dental Care in Woodlesford.

Looking forward to it...
