At Artclub today we made our blocks which we will use to print from next week.

We used our observational drawings from last week to draw on to the Safeprint blocks.

Once we had a basic outline of our design we used varying pressure on the pencils and made the lines different thicknesses.  Wherever a line was made, this area would not print.

To give the prints interesting textures we then collaged on to the block, using bubble wrap, linen fabric, metallic holey foil, corrugated card and ribbon.

Next week we will be printing the blocks on to paper introducing the technique of overprinting.
