Today we
started to make our model animals that will be displayed alongside the large
paintings we have been creating in Artclub. We chose to make an anteater,
snakes, a porcupine, a parrot and a jaguar. They are made from recyclable
materials like plastic bottles, yoghurt cartons and plastic bags stuffed with
newspaper and then shaped using masking tape.
A layer of paper mache and PVA glue creates a hard shell which we will
then be able to paint and collage.
The “L” and
“V” paintings were started and the backgrounds for the letters a-z were
collaged. This week they have been cut
out and stuck on to the paintings.
