Today we looked at the animal models and paintings we made
for our Tropical World exhibition last year.
Some of us were part of the team who created them and so we were excited
to see them again. For others it was a
chance to see what animals could be made with recyclable packaging and paper
mache and just how big the paintings are, that we have made before.
We then completed our pictures inspired by the book “The
Journey Home” by Fran Preston Gannon and thought whether we would like to make
a model or paint a picture as our main piece.
Those of us who chose to make a model of one of the animals
in the story selected plastic bottles and boxes and started to build up the
form of the animal. Meanwhile, those who had selected to do a painting/collage
worked together to choose an image they wanted to recreate.
