The Big Draw 2012

The Big Draw was a fantastic opportunity to allow our children to indulge their creative passions and to immerse themselves in the highly enjoyable experience of drawing.  Here, we recognise that drawing is not restricted to a pencil and paper approach but drawing can be carried out in endless ways.

In classrooms children were drawing in pairs, in teams and independently, using a huge range of drawing tools which created either highly colourful or powerfully monochrome outcomes.

The themes varied from self-portraits to golden tickets through to space and famous people, all chosen carefully to appeal to the child and to promote age appropriate drawing skills.

The classrooms were buzzing with energy and excitement as the children shared their outcomes with a real sense of pride.  In the hall the children were able to take a more free approach to drawing, choosing to doodle and design in a way that was personal to them.

They used a huge range of media on varying scales and together managed to fill the floor of the entire hall, which was lined with good quality lining paper!
