Year 5/6's Big draw Day by Amelia, Year 5
Held on the 14th of October 2013 was a creative day throughout the phases of the school. The theme of the Big Draw in our school was "Outside", therefore the assembly hall was magically transformed into an atmosphere of the outside.
In class the pupils were challenged to think of an environmental word and write it in stylish graffiti writing using highlighters to colour in the words.
The Year 5/6 pupils used exciting ways to create an explosion of neon colours on black paper which was used to cut out colossal letters to make a title for the Big Draw which would then be displayed in the hall. We used different techniques-flicking, blowing and sponging to create pieces that would be made into words.
Year 5/6 were the final phase to go into the hall. We were encouraged to experiment with drawing and graffiti, and this we did. We drew the school's tree logo and painted it in school neon colours.
The next day we opened up our doors to our friends and family so they could come an see our awesome graffiti.
