Printmaking Project in Key Stage - Day 1

During the Autumn term I (Mrs.Chin) went to Leeds College of Art to learn fabric printing on a Thursday evening.  I was inspired by the different techniques I learnt and approached KS1 about working on a printmaking project with them for their Rainforest topic.

Miss Pensom planned a fabulous three week printmaking topic in which they invited me into their three classes to help.

On the first day we learnt about colour, repeating patterns and shape and we all got to have a go.

By using our finger to paint we needed to consider the space between each mark.

First, we needed to print in a line with different colours.

Secondly, we needed to make a square pattern of four.

Thirdly, a flower….

…and lastly a design of our own.
