Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2) enjoyed “Jack and the
Beanstalk.” When they came to the hall they drew what they remembered from the
story. We had many beanstalks, giants,
castles in the sky and lots of Jacks!
Back in class, KS1 were drawing in experimental ways.
Year 1J painted and then printed the Giant’s castle as well as collaging a
giant as “high as the ceiling.” Year 1P created the magic beans by drawing with
tissue paper over balloons. Year 2 painted and collaged a massive beanstalk and
decorated the precious golden eggs. Independent drawing was happening
throughout the day in both year groups as well as opportunities to practise our
colouring techniques.
